The protein kinase-like domain PKLF000011 (DUF4135) is typically found in proteins involved in the biosynthesis of lantibiotics. In the lantibiotic nukacin ISK-1, the PKLF000011 domain is located at the N-terminus of NukM, a post-translational modification enzyme. It has been shown that the PKLF000011 domain is primarily responsible for substrate recognition and dehydration during the biosynthesis of nukacin ISK-1 [PMID: 15122889].
