The ART family originally identified in Vibrio fischeri, an extracellular symbiont that, when located in the light organ of the squid Euprymna scolopes, is the source of its bioluminescence. Characteristic of this family is a large insertion in the ART domain and conserved cysteine residues that, probably, to form two disulfide bridges.
